URBAN LEGENDS
According to Ask.com, “Urban legends are best known as cautionary or moralistic tales spread along by people who believe or claim the incidents befell either themselves or people the know personally or are acquaintances of friends or family members and are generally started due to misinterpretations.” I looked up seven different legends and the three I’ll talk about are the about Snapple being affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan, and the one about Pantene brand shampoo containing additive and when injected can get the user high, I’ll also be talking about young boy who they say died from eating mentos and drinking a coke. The rumor about the popular beverage company Snapple was started back in 1992 and suggested that the company was affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan and supported the banning of abortion. Due to the FALSE claims Snapple had a slight decrease in sales and when the head of the organization realized what was going on the put out a full age add in all the major newspapers in the state of California denying all ties to the Klan and any other organizations. The other legend I looked into was the on e about kids in northern Brittan where stilling Pantene brand shampoo of store shelves with the intentions of getting high by injecting into the vanes. The FALSE article was first posted on the web in 2006 and claimed that in Brazil a young boy died from choking when the pop and candy exploded into his throat causing him to choke and that only a year after the same thing happened to another young man who also lived in Brazil. Inconclusin urban myths are always fun to read and gossip about and there are many more out ther just waiting to be talked about but we must always remember not to always belive in what's posted on the enternet because it's always a chance it's not true.

Media violence effects diffrent people in diffrent ways. The study of media violence has made me realize that everyday people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are effect by the violent and vulgar images in the media and also in the music that we choose to listen to. It has also made me realize that over time people become desenssitized to violent act and it's because we so much of it in the movies, cartoons, and all the time on the news.
